The Great Fairy Tale Tradition: From Straparola and Basile to the Brothers Grimm, Selected and edited by Jack Zipes (Norton Critical Editions)
This is a treasury of fairy tales, author bios, critical analyses, and illustrations – I love this book! The cover image is an illustration by Warwick Goble (1911) of ‘The Three Animal Kings’ from The Pentamerone, a Neapolitan fairy tale book by Giambattista Basile.

Buying this is difficult – a treasure hunt – and a little expensive. Check your state library system.
